Digital reporting has spent years in a box — fine for IMEs, EUOs, and the volume nobody wants to staff, but not something you'd put on a case that matters. That's a training problem, not a technology problem. We built the Rose City Reporting Academy to fix it.

Every reporter we certify is trained for the full weight of the job — the multi-party deposition, the expert witness, the hostile examination. In person or remote, Realtime through Scriba, roughs on request, and certified finals produced from that reporter's own record. The complete job, on any case you'd hand a stenographer. Digital reporting just grew up.

RCVR CERTIFICATION

The Rose City Verified Reporter (RCVR):

Earned, Not Given.

RCVR is the credential we built to be sure our reporters know what we're doing. It tests the full scope of the job — capture, Realtime, exhibits, courtroom and conference-room conduct, rough production, and handing off a record clean enough to certify — under conditions that resemble the ones they'll actually work in.

RCVR Certified

  • Completion of all six Academy modules

  • A minimum of 50 hours in the deposition simulator

  • Perfect simulator scores before entering the workforce — not a passing score, a perfect one

  • A passing score on the RCVR examination, with no partial credit and no retake shortcuts

  • AAERT certification, the industry's recognized standard, paid for by us and held by the reporter

  • Demonstrated proficiency on Scriba and full equipment setup

  • Live evaluation on supervised jobs until proficient

Two credentials, one standard, no exceptions. A reporter who can't clear it doesn't work for us.

Built and taught by a 25-year deposition services veteran with more than 2,000 depositions behind him — not adapted from a general course, not written by academics, but built by someone who knows exactly where new reporters get into trouble.

PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGY

The Deposition Simulator

Before a reporter touches a live job, they run full depositions in a simulated environment: crosstalk, bad audio, a witness who won't stop talking over counsel, an attorney who wants the exhibit marked three different ways.

30 hours minimum. Perfect scores required before a reporter enters the workforce — not because every deposition goes perfectly, but because the ones that don't are exactly when a reporter has to.

The first hard deposition a Rose City reporter sits through is one we built on purpose.

Rose City Academy is wholly owned and run by Rose City Reporting — taught by our people, on our software, to our standard. That's deliberate. A credential you can buy is a credential that means whatever the buyer wants it to mean. Ours means one thing, because we're the only ones who issue it — and we're the ones who answer for it when a reporter walks into your client's deposition.
